Frequently Asked Questions

How do I join the CBC? If you have no previous boxing experience, we ask that you train at Cappy’s Gym 1-2 times a week for up to 3 months either as a Youth or Adult Boxer. This will help establish your boxing basics. If you have prior boxing experience, you can proceed directly to emailing Cap (cap@cappysgym.com) to set up at assessment. You will be asked to come in on a Tuesday evening from 6:30 PM-8:00 PM to be assessed for your fitness level and boxing skills. After your assessment, the coaching staff will provide you with requirements that you need to meet within 3 months. At that time, you will either be accepted onto the Team or asked to continue working on your requirements.

How long before I compete? Depending on your skill level, once you join the Team, you will be matched up within 3-6 months.

What is the time commitment to join? Boxers are asked to train Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM and Saturday from 11:30 AM- 2:00 PM. In addition to those three training days, we ask you attend one additional Youth Class or Adult Lesson. Competitive matches are all day events from morning weigh-ins to evening matches. We expect our boxers to make these events a priority. As a non-profit club, we engage in fundraising events and on-going Community Outreach Projects.

How much does training cost? Training dues are $80.00 per month unit you are an open boxer (10 matches). Once you are open, training dues are $60.00.
